What is Colour Stack Jewellery?
Colour Stack Jewellery was born out of my love of colour, and bold, simple design in combination with some unexpected downtime (thanks Covid 19 and the Breast Cancer I’m currently in chemotherapy for!).
I have a LOT of clothes: I buy lots and I only buy at low prices. I’m an eBay lover, a charity store shopper and a TKMaxx superfan. I happily buy from the supermarket aisles, though I usually wait for the sales even at budget places!

In recent weeks I have been distracting myself by cataloguing my clothes in the @styleapp. I downloaded it about three years ago but never had the time to use it. In the app you log all your clothes in categories and then combine them into ‘looks’ which can help with putting outfits together. By doing this I’ve noticed that despite having lots of costume jewellery (diamonds are definitely NOT this girl’s best friend) I’m just not wearing much of it very often. I find most necklaces and bracelets too fussy, not colourful or too expensive. So I thought I’d design and make what I would want to buy myself.

So what makes your jewellery accessible?
In the design stage a really important element was the super simple magnetic closure. I live with a Brain Tumour and one of the deficits I have from nerve damage is neuropathy in my hands. This has been worsened by the chemo drugs I’m taking at the moment. I’ve notice that the necklaces I do wear are long pendants that need no fastenings and when I wear a ‘collar type’ (which I LOVE) I usually have to ask my husband to do it up for me. This type of Jewellery just wasn’t accessible for me and I wanted to change that!
Colour Stack necklaces are made from fabulous quality Italian chunky cord which is firm enough to be worn like a collar. The game changer is the simple ‘close and click’ magnetic stainless steel closure. Now I can do up my own necklaces and so can you!

The Colour Stack brand came about because I like to layer colour and wanted the versatility of wearing the necklaces either on their own or ‘ stacked’ together in two or three. The bracelets have the same ‘click and close’ magnetic fastening. I hope they can bring joy to other people who like to wear unique and unusual things, to fellow colour-manics and to people who struggle with standard fiddly fasteners on other jewellery. I fit into all 3 categories… what about you?
